San Francisco Watches Less TV Than People In Other Major U.S. Cities

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- People who live in San Francisco don't spend a lot of time in front of the boob tube.

According to the news media analysts at TVSpy, San Franciscans spend the least amount of time watching television when compared to other viewers in the top 25 markets in the country.

The report looked at adults ages 25 to 54 and found viewers in The City watch, on average, 2 hours and 45 minutes of live TV a day. In fact, San Francisco is the only city in the study that clocked in at under 3 hours. Los Angeles viewers came in just ahead, at 3 hours and 4 minutes.

Most adults watch more than three hours of live TV a day, according to the study. Five cities came in over 4.5 hours of TV time a day, with Cleveland topping the list at an average of 4 hours and 42 minutes. The others are Detroit, Baltimore, St. Louis and Pittsburgh.
