Documentary On Audrie Pott's Tragic Story Debuts At Sundance

(KCBS) – The tragic story of Audrie Pott will be told on the silver screen. A new documentary about the Saratoga teen is premiering at the Sundance Film Festival.

"Audrie & Daisy" tells the story of two teenage girls who were sexually assaulted and subsequently cyberbullied.

Filmmakers Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk of San Francisco produced the documentary film over a year and a half, interviewing the families of the two young women and alleged attackers.

Audrie was a 15-year-old sophomore at Saratoga High School when she took her own life, eight days after she was assaulted by three teenagers in 2012.

The film also features the story of Daisy Coleman, who also suffered intense bullying after she was sexually assaulted. Daisy's story took a hopeful turn. After being contacted by another rape survivor, the Missouri teen began to heal.

"Audrie & Daisy" makes its debut screening at the film festival in Park City, Utah on Monday afternoon.
