'Miss Universe' Arrives In San Francisco for Super Bowl 50

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Newly crowned Miss Universe, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach flew in to San Francisco International Airport Sunday evening after completing her homecoming duties in the Philippines. Wurtzbach is in town to begin her temporary stint as a correspondent for Inside Edition according to PhilStar Global.

This week, Wurtzbach will be covering Super Bowl 50 for the news program. "This will be my first time experiencing the biggest night in American sports, and I'm excited to take viewers behind the scenes in the lead-up to the big event," the 26 year-old tells Inside Edition.

Controversy rose at the climax to the Miss Universe Pageant, when host Steve Harvey mistakenly announced Miss Colombia as the winner of Miss Universe. He then quickly retracted his statement and called Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Miss Philippines as the official winner.
