Broncos Coach On Player In Prostitution Sting: 'We've Moved On'

SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) -- Denver Broncos Head Coach Gary Kubiak on Wednesday talked briefly about the player who was caught up in a South Bay prostitution sting the day before, saying the team had "moved on" and was focused on Super Bowl 50.

Practice squad safety Ryan Murphy was sent home, but he has caused quite a stir Tuesday. South Bay authorities said they caught Murphy with a group involved in prostitution at a San Jose motel.

"Ryan Murphy was there with associates that were involved in the criminal activities," explained Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department Sgt. James Jensen

Although deputies didn't cite Murphy, sources said they did cite someone he knew for solicitation of prostitution.

Coach Kubiak wasted no time addressing the incident, releasing a brief statement Tuesday night that the team would be sending Murphy home.

On Wednesday, he spoke briefly about the incident as the team met with the media.

"It's been dealt with and we've moved on, you know? Dealt with it yesterday," said Kubiak. :Obviously disappointed for the young man, but we're focused on what we have to do football-wise."

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Human Trafficking Task Force says the business of selling sex is up in the weeks and days leading up to the Super Bowl.

"The ads have increased, both with the females in the prostitution and the males looking for prostitutes," said Jensen.

When asked his feelings on what happened to Murphy, Broncos Cornerback Aqib Talib said he was more concerned with focusing on the Super Bowl.

"That's an unfortunate situation, but we got work to do. As the Broncos, we got work to do," said Talib.

Most of Talib's teammates echoed that sentiment.

"We're just looking at it as it's not a distraction. It's done with and we're just moving on and getting ready for this game," said Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware.

"I'm excited to be in this game and have this opportunity and I'm going to keep my focus just on that," said Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.
