SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) — Concerts and fireworks at Super Bowl City attracted so many visitors Friday night that the venue reached maximum capacity and the gates were closed to latecomers.

The band One Republic played a free show at Justin Herman Plaza and then fireworks burst over the bay waters Friday night, attracting so many people to Super Bowl City that no more people were allowed inside.

San Francisco police estimated that 100,000 people were inside Super Bowl City on Friday night.

The Super Bowl Host Committee said they expect even more people to come to Super Bowl City on Saturday night, when Alicia Keys performs.
