SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — Musician Janelle Monae will kick off the opening day of San Francisco’s Stern Grove Festival on June 19.
The admission-free festival, now in its 79th season, will kick off with headliner Janelle Monae at 2 p.m. Local soul and funk band Midtown Social will be the opening act.UPDATE: Atmospheric River: I-880 Shutdown, Flooded Roadways, Damaged Homes, Massive Rockslides In Storm's Wake
Seating is first-come, first-served.
At 11:30 a.m., Stern Grove Festival will hold The Big Picnic, a fundraising event with tickets starting at $250 and benefiting the festival and its mission to present admission-free concerts and outreach programs to Bay Area residents.
