Humane Society Patrolling Streets Of San Rafael For Unlicensed Dogs

KCBS_740SAN RAFAEL (KCBS) -- The Marin Humane Society has begun patrolling the streets of downtown San Rafael looking for unlicensed dogs.

The city claims that a number of the homeless have not had their furry companions vaccinated, and they worry someone might get bitten.

The Humane Society has begun issuing warnings and fines for violators. In some cases, an animal can be taken away from a person.

Many homeless say they are being unfairly targeted, claiming that their dogs are with them twenty four hours a day, and they take care of them better than other pet owners.
