Preview-Free Film Version Of 'Batman v Superman' Draws Sellout Crowds At San Jose Tech Museum
SAN JOSE (KCBS) -- 'Batman v Superman' had a big weekend, raking in $166 million domestically, while on the west coast film lovers flocked to the San Jose's tech museum to see one of the few copies of the movie shown just as the director saw it.
The opening night showing drew a sellout crowd to The Tech Museum of Innovation, with many superhero fans appearing in costume, but masks were banned under theater rules.
"Opening weekend of the Imax viewing has been great," Theater Operations Manager Michelle Dunkin.

She says they are one of only 10 theaters nationwide to receive the enormous 1,200 pound film version of the movie, much of which Director Zack Snyder chose to shoot in Imax.
"Zack Snyder is another one of the great Hollywood directors who have gone back to filming in film, mainly for artistic reasons, but they really have encouraged the audiences to see these films as they shot them," Dunkin said.
The film is being shown without previews.
