Oakland Coliseum Gets Its Old Name Back

OAKLAND (CBSSF) -- Farewell O.co, hello Oakland Coliseum.

A spokesperson for Overstock.com said the online shopping website has decided not to renew its contract for naming rights to the East Bay sports facility. However, it will remain a corporate sponsor for the Oakland A's.

Sports fans can choose from three different names for the stadium until further notice: "The Coliseum," "Oakland Coliseum," or "Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum."

Meantime, the Coliseum is actively looking for a new sponsor.

"We are excited to offer a unique opportunity to the sports marketing marketplace," said Scott McKibben, Executive Director of the Joint Powers Authority, which oversees the Oakland Alameda Coliseum and Oracle Arena in a press release. "The Coliseum is now the only venue in the United States that offers a sponsor naming rights to a venue hosting Major League Baseball and the National Football League."
