Judas Priest Reveal Work On New Album Through Instagram

By Annie Reuter

(RADIO.COM) – Just over four months after finishing their Redeemer of Souls tour, Judas Priest are hard at work on a new album.

On Monday, the band posted a photo on Instagram while in the studio. The caption confirmed that Priest are forging new music.

The forthcoming album will be the follow-up to 2014's Redeemer Of Souls. In a recent interview with Full Metal Jackie, vocalist Rob Halford revealed that the band was headed into writing sessions.

"I can't wait to get into the writing zone again – that's one of the most thrilling moments for me in Priest," he said. "You go into a room with some amps, 'Hey, guys, have a cup of tea,' turn the amps on, start riffing, and boom – you could have another amazing Priest song by the end of the day."

While no release date has been set for the band's forthcoming 18th studio album, Halford says it should arrive in 2017.

"I'm optimistic we should have something, probably not by the end of this year, but definitely by the early part of next year."
