Firefighters Extinguish 2-Alarm Blaze That Damaged Santa Clara Home

SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) -- Firefighters extinguished a 2-alarm fire that damaged a Santa Clara home Saturday morning.

The blaze was first reported at 10:55 a.m. near Mauricia and Gibson avenues, according to a dispatcher.

Neighbors reported the fire after witnessing smoke coming from the home's garage, Battalion Chief Drew Miller said.

Nobody was inside the home when firefighters arrived. One resident, however, suffered minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene, Miller said.

The home sustained some fire damage, mostly to the garage.

At least three people lived in the home have been temporarily displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross, according to Miller.

Investigators are working to determine a cause for the fire.
