DIXON (CBS SF) — Two motorcyclists died when they both struck a car as it was making a left turn from Highway 113 near Dixon Saturday evening.
Around 6:48 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers received a report of a collision involving a vehicle and two motorcycles on the highway at Hay Road in unincorporated Solano County, according to CHP officials.READ MORE: Scott Peterson Resentenced To Life Without Parole; Laci's Mom: 'You Will Always Be Their Murderer'
Firefighters arrived first at the scene and rendered aid to the injured motorcyclists, CHP officials said.
After a preliminary investigation, CHP officers determined that a 36-year-old Vacaville woman was driving a 2010 Dodge Charger, traveling north on Highway 113, approaching Hay Road.
At the same time, a 29-year-old man was traveling south on Highway 113 on his 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle, approaching Hay Road. Additionally, a 35-year-old woman was also traveling south on the highway on her 2013 Yamaha motorcycle, according to the CHP.

The driver of the Dodge Charger then slowed down between 5 and 10 mph, in an attempt to make a left turn onto Hay Road. She, however, failed to yield the right of way to the oncoming motorcyclists, CHP officials said.
The two motorcyclists then collided into the front of the Dodge Charger. The impact caused the motorcyclists to be ejected from the motorcycles, according to the CHP.
Both motorcyclists were pronounced dead at the scene. The pair’s identity has not been released.
The driver of the Dodge Charger and a male passenger were both taken to the hospital and have since been released, CHP officials said.
