Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing On Busy Thoroughfare In Reno

RENO, Nev. (CBS/AP) -- A small plane made an emergency landing on a major thoroughfare in southwest Reno, tying up afternoon traffic but apparently causing no injuries.

Fire officials say the single-engine Cessna 182A suffered some damage when it landed on the southbound lanes of McCarran Boulevard near Coughlin ranch at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Reno police spokesman Tim Broadway says neither of the two people on board was hurt.

FAA records indicate the plane is registered to Extreme Source Inc., a Truckee, California-based company that has provided skydiving flights in the past.

The plane was built in 1958 and last was certified by the FAA in July 2015.
