Woman Arrested After Bizarre Act Of Vandalism At Steve Jobs home

PALO ALTO (CBS SF) – A Long Beach woman has been arrested after a bizarre cause of vandalism at the home of late Apple founder Steve Jobs.

Authorities said 31-year-old Paloma Duarte was arrested on suspension of felony assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor vandalism and making felony criminal threat charges.

According to the Daily Post, the incident began at 8:42 p.m. on May 9th when a woman rang the doorbell several times at the Waverly Ave. home still owned by Jobs widow.

She then allegedly went into the backyard and began screaming at an unidentified woman who was inside the home.

As the woman was leaving, a witness wrote down her license plate number and later gave it to police.

A private security company operating in the neighborhood also got a description of the suspect's car.

The next day, a security guard spotted the car in the neighborhood again. The guard saw a woman get out of the car in front of Jobs home and throw an object toward the house.

The woman then allegedly backed her car into the security guard's car, damaging the vehicle and fled the scene.

The guard was able to follow her into Mountain View where police apprehended her and identified her as Duarte.

Investigators allege that the object Duarte was seen throwing was a brick that smashed into a car's windshield.
Police have not released a motive for Duarte's actions.
