Pleasant Hill Man Suspected Of Human Trafficking, Running Brothel

PLEASANT HILL (CBS SF) -- A Pleasant Hill resident was arrested on suspicion of various human trafficking offenses after detectives carried out an undercover operation at the man's home last week, police said Monday.

Dominic Salazar, 54, was allegedly involved in the operation of a brothel that was being run under the guise of an upscale private club, recruiting female workers through a faux modeling business, police said.

Pleasant Hill police initially received a tip about prostitution occurring in the 500 block of Mesa Verde Place on Tuesday and subsequently conducted a sting there.

Several women were interviewed and information was gathered that led to the operation being uncovered, police said. Salazar, the primary resident of the home, was then arrested on suspicion of human trafficking.

The women contacted during the undercover operation were offered assistance through Community Violence Solutions, which provides resources to victims of human trafficking.

Anybody with information regarding the case is asked to call the Pleasant Hill Police Department's investigators at (925) 288-4630.
