CONCORD (CBS SF) – A preview for Seth Rogen’s upcoming R-rated animated film “Sausage Party” is something you wouldn’t expect to see before watching a kid-flick like “Finding Dory.” But that’s exactly what happened to an audience attending Brenden Theaters in Concord.

The questionable trailer was accidentally shown before a surprised crowd there to see a screening of the popular animated Disney/Pixar film.

Representatives for Brenden Theaters quickly apologized for the mishap that occurred earlier this month. In a written statement to the East Bay Times, Vice President of Operations, Walter Eichinger said it was a regrettable mistake and was taken care of right away.

“Playing that trailer was a one-time honest mistake by a theater manager moving screens around in effort to accommodate several large last-minute groups wanting to see ‘Dory,'” Eichinger said. “The wrong movie was started by mistake.”

“It was caught soon, but not until the trailer played,” he said. “We regret it, apologize for it, and we are not happy that it happened. We fully realize this trailer is not appropriate for ‘Dory’ and we would never schedule something like that. “The trailer for ‘Sausage Party’ is not and never has been scheduled with ‘Dory.”
