59-Year-Old Man Hospitalized After Alleged Assault On SF Muni Bus

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police are investigating an assault that allegedly took place on a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus Thursday evening after the bus driver discovered an injured and unresponsive man onboard.

At 5:52 p.m., officers responded to Fifth and Market streets after they received a report of an injured man aboard a bus, according to police.

The driver told officers she was driving when she heard an argument happening in the middle of the bus. The driver then stopped the bus and all the passengers exited, police said.

When the driver went to investigate, she found an unresponsive man in the middle of the bus, suffering from multiple injuries, according to police.

The victim, a 59-year-old man, was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.

The driver told officers she believed one of the suspects was a black 25-year-old man wearing a light gray beanie. The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot, police said.
