(RADIO.COM) – Considering how much of a fan Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett is of anime it’s not unreasonable to assume he’s at familiar with Pokémon. But the idea of the band covering the show’s theme song is a bit of a stretch. That’s why YouTuber Golpe Baixo decided to edit together a video to make it look like Metallica are performing the Redeemers version of the song. And the video’s gotten quite a reaction from viewers, amassing over 200,000 views since it was posted July 27.

A special edition of the title will be made available to fans on August 30. Metallica are currently working on their 10th album, the follow-up to Death Magnetic, which came out in 2008.
