Berned No More; Cloverdale Finally Paid For Sanders Rally

KCBS_740 CLOVERDALE (KCBS) -- The town of Cloverdale can feel the Bern again.

The town has received a $23,000 check from Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sander's campaign to cover overtime expenses for city personal related to the candidate's visit last June.

After the candidate made a top at the town airport the city sent the campaign a bill for police and fire overtime.  The campaign initially said the Secret Service covers security costs.  When the city contacted the service they were told they never pay for local security.

The town sent another letter to the campaign and this week they finally received a check.

The city manager says he's relieved and happy to put the matter behind them.
