Police Release Video Of Suspect Who Bit Off SF Bartender's Finger

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police have released surveillance videos of a man who allegedly attacked and bit off the finger of a bartender at a San Francisco bar.

It happened July 17 at about 2:15 a.m. at the Silver Clouds Karaoke bar located in the 1900 block of Lombard Street in the Russian Hill neighborhood.

Police say the bartender was trying to close up when a male customer, who had been drinking there earlier, attempted to re-enter.

The customer became irate when the bartender told him he couldn't come in and began kicking the door. He even tried to come in through a window.

When the bartender went outside to confront him, the customer attacked him. Police say the customer bit and severed one of the victim's fingers.

The suspect left the scene with a group of friends. He is described as a 180-pound, 6 foot tall Hispanic male, with black hair and brown eyes.

The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for his injuries which included contusions to his head, and an amputated finger.
