Explosive Devices Found During Fairfield Traffic Stop

FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) -- Two men were in custody Friday after a traffic stop led to the discovery of stolen property, burglary tools and homemade improvised explosive devices.

Eric Warren, 37, of Benicia, was arrested on suspicion of possession of burglary tools, possession of an illegal explosive device and for parole violation.

Robert Feagins, 33, of Fairfield, was arrested on suspicion of forgery, possessing fraudulent checks, false imprisonment, identity theft and on an outstanding warrant.

On Thursday at around 8 p.m., officers with the Fairfield Police Department were conducting security checks on Central Place in Cordelia when they located a suspicious vehicle in the 4300 block of Central Place.

There were two men in the vehicle, and a records check revealed one of the men, identified as Warren, was on state parole, polices said.

The other man, identified as Feagins, originally provided a false identity to officers and was wanted on a felony warrant for weapons violations.

Officers searched the vehicle and discovered a large quantity of stolen property, controlled substances, burglary tools, various checks and banking account information, equipment to produce fake identifications and homemade improvised explosive devices.

The police department called in the Napa County Sheriff's Office Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team to assist with the improvised explosive devices, and the devices were rendered safe and disposed of.

The two men were taken into custody without incident.
