NAPLES, Fla. (CBS SF/AP) — Kim McGuire, who played the character known as “Hatchet-Face” in the John Waters film “Cry-Baby,” has died. She was 60.
Her husband, Gene Piotrowsky, confirmed his wife’s death Thursday. Piotrowsky said she died Wednesday at a Naples, Florida, hospital of complications from pneumonia.READ MORE: COVID: Muni To Suspend 'Short' Line Service Citing Vaccine Mandate Staffing Issues
McGuire acted in several TV shows and films in the 1990s, but was best known playing opposite Johnny Depp in 1990’s “Cry-Baby” as grotesque Mona ‘Hatchet-Face’ Malnorowski, a member of a teenage gang headed by Depp’s character.READ MORE: UPDATE: Investigation Underway Into Apparent Shooting On I-580 In Oakland
Piotrowsky said McGuire later became an attorney specializing in family law and children’s issues. He said she wrote several books on topics ranging from bullying to the couple’s experiences in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina destroyed their home in 2005.
A private service is planned.
