The 49ers were one of the surprises of Week 1 in the NFL with their 28-0 demolition of the Rams on Monday Night Football. They had a quick turnaround for this weekend traveling across the country to take on the Carolina Panthers. The cross country trip didn’t seem to bother them however, as they took a surprising 10-7 first quarter lead.

However, the Panthers were able to erase that lead quickly as some miscommunication on the back end of the Niners defense led to tight end Greg Olsen being wide open for a 78-yard touchdown from Cam Newton.
