Deftones To Launch 'Phantom Bride' Beer

By Radio.com Staff

(RADIO.COM) – Deftones have announced they have partnered with San Diego craft beer maker, Belching Beaver to release their own brew, Phantom Bride IPA.

Named after the band's current single, Phantom Bride will hit shelves October 3rd. The hoppy West Coast style India Pale Ale is said to be loaded up with Mosaic, Amarillo, Simcoe, and Citra hops, all handpicked by Deftones frontman, Chino Moreno.

"Really excited to see our Phantom Bride IPA hit the shelves. As a huge beer connoisseur it was a privilege collaborating with Belching Beaver on the flavor profiles and coming out with a beer that I would put right up with any of my favorites. Good stuff!," says Moreno.

"The band are huge fans of craft beer and had a relationship with one of our team members," explains Marc Truex, Belching Beaver's Director of Sales. "The Deftones are an amazing band and of course we were delighted to throw some ideas around with Chino."

According to Truex, the beer went through four test batches for the Chino signed off on the perfect flavor. The company brewed up a limited run of 120 barrels (approximately 240 kegs) which are now being shipped to their Western distributors.

For those outside of Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Hawaii, and California, a limited number of cases can be purchased online via Craftshack.com.

Phantom Bride IPA will be available on draft and in 22-oz. bottles.
