Water Service Restored For San Jose Mobile Home Park Residents
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Water has returned Wednesday for residents of a mobile home park in East San Jose without service since Monday due to a main break, management officials said.
Residents of Eastridge Estates, a community owned by the Hometown America Corporation, had been without water since Monday when a line ruptured while contractors were working at the site, regional manager Mindy Parish said in a statement.
The community is located at 1955 Quimby Road next to the Reid-Hillview Airport.
The workers were removing and replacing asphalt and storm drains scheduled ahead of time, Parish said.
The contractor worked through the night to drain the water and reach the line to make repairs, according to Parish.
Meanwhile, water was available at the community clubhouse and delivered to residents, Parish said.
Portable bathrooms were also brought to the site and buckets were given to residents to gather water from the pool to help flush their toilets, according to Parish.
By Tuesday morning, the line stopped leaking and samples were tested to make sure the water was safe for consumption, Parish said.
As of this afternoon, the water was deemed safe and service was restored, according to management officials.
