Kelly Clarkson and Daughter River 'Push It' For Diabetes Challenge On Twitter

By Amanda Wicks

(RADIO.COM) – It's nearly Halloween, and Kelly Clarkson and her daughter have gotten a head start by dressing up and dancing around like Salt-N-Pepa.

It's all part of the Diabetes Dance Dare challenge as put on by the American Diabetes Association. Anyone who participates must choose a song and perform an original dance for 23 seconds to call attention to the fact that every 23 seconds someone is diagnosed with diabetes. Clarkson participated after her friend, actress Melissa Peterman, challenged her.

As Clarkson introduced their dance, River "warmed up" by twirling around. Before performing, Clarkson challenged the entire cast of The Voice. "I'm gonna throw Gwen Stefani in there too, come on," she said, before asking River if she's ready. "Are you ready to dance?" Clarkson asks, keying up Salt-N-Pepa's 1986 hit "Push It."

Clarkson can't resist a self-deprecating comment. "Totally inappropriate for a 2-year-old," she said as she got down low with her toddler. The two danced around the kitchen and River looked to be having a ball, all in the name of a good cause.
