Berkeley Mail Carrier Accused Of Dumping Ballot Guides

KCBS_740

BERKELEY (KCBS) – A mail carrier in Berkeley is under fire, for allegedly dumping ballot guides in a recycling bin.

U.S. Postal Service officials said they started investigating last week after 96 ballot guides turned up in the bin.

The packets were retrieved and delivered to their intended recipients the following day.

Inspectors have interviewed the mail carrier they believe is responsible and hope to deliver a final report on the matter to the U.S. Attorney General and U.S. Post Office next week.

That worker could face criminal charges as well as being fired.
