Skunk Lock Sprays Bike Thieves With A Stench That Makes Them Puke

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) -- Anyone who has had their bike stolen will tell you it stinks. Now there's a chance for a little payback.

Introducing the Skunk Lock, guaranteed to make bike thieves really stink.

It's "the bike lock that fights back," according to its advertising.

The Skunk Lock is black and white, just like a skunk and when thieves try to cut through it, they get sprayed with a stench so bad, it makes them puke.

"It does have the smell of vomit, so it is immediately vomit inducing as soon as it hits your face," says Skunk Lock's creator Daniel Idzkowski.

The San Francisco entrepreneur and cyclist was sick of seeing bikes stolen and decided enough is enough.

The Skunk Lock sprays thieves in the face with noxious gas, causing them to get sick on contact.

"At a lunch and one of our friends actually had their bike stolen, he had a bike stolen four months before that and the frustrating part was they were using the best lock on the market."

And once the stench has been dispensed, there's even an antidote so bike owners can de-funk their bikes.

The Skunk Lock will be available for purchase online by summer of 2017. The price tag will be about $150.
