7 Men Wounded, 1 Critically In Oakland Overnight Shooting

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Seven men were injured in a shooting late Saturday night in West Oakland, according to police.

Around 11:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 7700 block of Bancroft Avenue, a police dispatcher said.

As officers arrived, they heard gunshots nearby. No officers were injured however, according to the dispatcher.

Officers then found the victims, all between the ages of 27 and 45, suffering from gunshot wounds. All seven were taken to the hospital, the dispatcher said.

One of the victims is reportedly in critical condition.

Another victim has since been treated and released, according to the dispatcher.

One suspect has been detained as officers continue to investigate the shooting.
