The “Younger” star took to social media Sunday to try to stamp out the controversy she and Walsh caused with their choice of Halloween costumes for a party Saturday. Duff donned a pilgrim costume, while Walsh dressed as a Native American chief, complete with headdress and warpaint.

While the couple seemed to enjoy themselves during the Beverly Hills party they attended, reactions to the look were quick — and extremely negative. By Sunday, Duff found herself doing damage control.

“I am SO sorry to people I offended with my costume,” she tweeted. “It was not properly thought through and I am truly, from the bottom of my [heart] sorry.”

Walsh, a personal trainer, also apologized, posting a note to the Instagram account for his Rise Nation fitness organization.

“I meant no disrespect. I only have admiration for the indigenous people of America,” he wrote. “In hindsight I would not have made that decision. I apologize to anyone I may have offended.”
