Woman Sexually Assaulted In SJSU Park And Ride Lot

SAN JOSE (KCBS) – Police at San Jose State University are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a woman inside a porta-potty early Monday morning.

According to police, the incident happened around 4 a.m. at the school's Park and Ride Lot at South 7th and Humboldt near Spartan Stadium. The lot is located about a mile from the main campus.

The woman said she was inside the porta-potty when the man forced his way in and assaulted her. Police said the woman's friends intervened and stopped the assault, but the suspect was able to get away on a bicycle.

Police describe the suspect as a man in his 30s or 40s, with a thin mustache and two braids. He was reportedly wearing a pea coat, dark jeans and no shirt.

Monday's incident follows the report of two women being sexually assaulted by an international student at a campus party over Labor Day weekend. The suspect in that case has been temporarily banned from campus and is apparently out of the country.

Anyone with information is asked to contact campus police at 408-924-2222.
