RIO VISTA (CBS SF) — Police have reunited a man with his family after officers found him in Rio Vista, appearing lost and unable to speak, police said.

The man, who is autistic, was found around 11:10 a.m., when officers responded to a report of a person in distress near St. Francis and Laurel ways, according to police.

There, officers found the man carrying a blanket and appearing extremely thin, police said.

The man was unable to explain who he is or where he is from. A resident in the neighborhood believed he lived in the area with his family, who may not have realized that he has gone missing, according to police.

After successfully finding the man’s family, police thanked the community for assisting.
