BART Recovering From Equipment Issue Between South Hayward, Fremont

FREMONT (CBS SF) -- BART service is recovering Monday afternoon after an equipment problem between the South Hayward and Fremont stations caused delays of 20-30 minutes for trains, according to the transit agency.

The problem was first reported at about 1:50 p.m. and was affecting trains on the Fremont, Richmond and Daly City lines.

A BART dispatcher said the problem was with cover boards along the trackway. Trains were initially single-tracking through the area and were traveling slowly while crews made repairs.

BART officials issued an advisory shortly after 3 p.m. saying service was recovering from the problem.
