Watch the first trailer for Disney's live-action "Beauty and the Beast"

(CBS NEWS) – A tale as old as time is about to be retold, as Disney is bringing “Beauty and the Beast” back to theaters — this time as a live-action recreation of the animated musical.

Emma Watson and Dan Stevens will star in director Bill Condon’s update on the Oscar-winning 1991 animated film, and the first trailer — which debuted Monday — promises the new film will be very faithful to the original.

The cast of the new film, due in theaters March 17, 2017, includes Luke Evans as Gaston, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad as Lefou, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts.
