Vacaville Prison Worker Sent Home For Wearing Trump T-Shirt

KCBS_740

VACAVILLE (KCBS) – A Solano County prison worker said he was sent home from work this week for wearing a t-shirt supporting President-elect Donald Trump.

Leo Sanchez, who works for the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, said his free speech rights were violated when he was told to change out of the shirt he was wearing.

The shirt read "Trump is My President."

Department of Corrections employees can wear political shirts and buttons if they don't have contact with the public or inmates.

Sanchez claims people he works with have worn shirts in support of Hillary Clinton. Corrections officials said they're investigating that claim.
