Players Complain About Green Lasers During Mexico City Game

MEXICO CITY (CBS SF and AP) — The Oakland Raiders defense was enough of a challenge for Houston Texan quarterback Brock Osweiler Monday night, but he also had to overcome fans in Mexico City pointing green lasers at him.

The Raiders came away with a 27-20 win in the Monday night contest that wasn't without several odd twists and turns.

There were your questionable calls -- a typical feature of NFL games this season. And then there were the intense beams of light coming out of the stands.

"I never want to say one thing's a difference maker, but certainly having a laser zoomed in your eyeball definitely affects how you play a game," Osweiler said.

Mexico City fans have used the laser to try to distract opponents including the U.S. men's soccer team during World Cup qualifiers, but it caught some of these football players off guard.

Osweiler wasn't the only player distracted by the laser beams.

"Yeah, that was kind of weird," Raiders pass rusher Khalil Mack said. "I saw that and I thought I was in the Twilight Zone."
