The new film teams Harrison Ford’s LAPD replicant hunter, Rick Deckard, with a younger counterpart (Ryan Gosling), but details of the plot are being kept intentionally vague.
“Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos,” the official synopsis reads. ‘K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.”READ MORE: eBay Removes Listing for Art Created in California Japanese Internment Camp
The film also stars Robin Wright, Jared Leto, Barkhad Abdi and Mackenzie Davis. Ridley Scott, who directed the first film, serves as executive producer.
“Blade Runner 2049” hits theaters on October 6, 2017.
