Police Shoot, Kill Robbery Suspect During Traffic Stop In East San Jose

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A robbery suspect died Friday evening in east San Jose after police shot him during a traffic stop, police said.

At 7:04 p.m., officers near North White and Penitencia Creek roads tried to pull over a vehicle, which contained a person who had a felony warrant for robbery, according to police.

As officers were trying to make the traffic stop, shots were fired and officers ultimately struck the suspect at least once, police said.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
