Two Dead, Two Injured In Horrific Vallejo Crash

VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- Two woman were killed and two other passengers injured when a car careened into a signal light pole early Thursday morning on a Vallejo street, authorities said.

Vallejo police Sgt. Shane Bower said his agency got a 911 call around 2 a.m of a solo vehicle crash at Sonoma Boulevard and Solano Avenue.

On arriving officers found that a 2001 Honda Civic, driven by a 26-year-old female Vallejo resident, that had collided with the pole. The force of the impact nearly tore the car in half.

The vehicle was occupied by three other people.

The driver and right front passenger, a 24-year-old female Vallejo resident, were declared dead at the scene. The two rear passengers were also injured and transported to a local hospital.

The Solano County coroner's office identified the two women as 26-year-old Santaleighsa Gonzalez, the driver, and 24-year-old Priscilla
Rosario.

The injured were identified as a 23-year female Vallejo resident and a 20-year-old male Vallejo resident.

Authorities said that the preliminary investigation had found that the occupants, including the driver, were consuming alcoholic beverages at several local bars. They entered the intersection westbound on Solano Avenue at a high rate of speed, striking the light pole head-on.

Names of the involved parties is being withheld pending notification of family members.
