GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (CBS SF) — A body believed to be a missing Healdsburg man was found in the Colorado River in Grand Canyon Nation Park Wednesday, the National Park Service said.
The body found below Lava Falls is believed to be Peter Francis Schwab, 66, of Healdsburg, NPS spokeswoman Becky Latanich said.
The body was taken by helicopter to the rim of the canyon and transported to the Coconino County Medical Examiner for identification.
Schwab was last seen June 28 on a commercial river trip near National Canyon at river mile 167. He was reported missing after a sightseeing stop at National Canyon.
The National Park Service conducted a multiple search and rescue operation, Latanich said.
