OAKLAND (CBS SF) — All eastbound lanes of Interstate Highway 580 in East Oakland were blocked Wednesday following a shooting that injured multiple people, police said.
The California Highway Patrol said it received a report of shots fired at a vehicle near the 106th Avenue off-ramp from eastbound 580 at around 3:10 p.m.

A view from Chopper 5 showed a number of yellow evidence markers dotting a portion of the closed roadway near where a dark-colored sedan was with its driver and passenger side doors open.
As of 6:30 p.m. at least one eastbound lane had been reopened.
Drivers were being told to use alternate routes in the area. Cars were seen turning around in the backup and driving the wrong way toward the nearest exit.
The CHP and Oakland police were combing the roadway for shell casings and interviewing drivers and other potential witnesses.
