LAKE TAHOE (CBS SF) — A number of Northern California ski resorts are aiming to open up later this month or in early December.

Mammoth Mountain southeast of Yosemite National Park announced Tuesday that is planning to open a day early on Friday, November 13, thanks to continuing cold temperatures and more snow in the forecast.

In the Tahoe area, Heavenly and Northstar are close behind with a projected opening day of November 20.
