Fall is just around the corner. That means it’s time to pile in the family car and head out to one of the many Pumpkin Farms scattered throughout the Bay Area.  Whether you are looking for the perfect pumpkin in the East Bay, on the coast, or in the heart of the city, we’ve got the patch for you.

Joan’s Farm and Pumpkin Patch

Nestled in the heart of Livermore Wine Country, Joan’s Pumpkin Patch is open daily from 9AM to 6PM starting October 1st until October 31. Joan’s is also open for large groups, school tours and birthday parties. There is something for everyone at Joan’s from the traditional Corn Maze, Hay Rides, Farm Animals, Pumpkins, Gourds and Indian Corn to the slightly more unique like, straw bales for climbing, an old west town, gem panning, and its own antique museum. With the background of the Livermore hills, Joan’s also offer many spots to capture the perfect autumn photo.

Lemos Farm

It would just be odd not to include Half Moon Bay on a list of best pumpkin patches in the Bay Area considering it’s known as the “Pumpkin Capital of the World” and is home to the annual “Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival.” There are several pick-your-own pumpkin patches in Half Moon Bay but Lemos seems to take the cake when it comes to family fun. Boasting everything from pony and train rides to laser tag and it’s famous Scare Zone its no surprise that Lemos is considered by many in the Bay Area to be a Halloween tradition. If you want some extra fun, head over the weekend of the Pumpkin Festival. Lemos is open daily now through Halloween from 9AM – 5PM.

J.E. Perry’s Farms

Perry’s Pumpkin Patch is located in the lush and beautiful Ardenwood Regional Preserve (East Bay Regional Parks). Kids can climb the Hay Pyramids, go on tractor rides and get lost in the hay maze. The patch opens October 1st and is open daily. Monday through Friday hours are 1pm-7pm and Saturday through Sunday 9am-7pm.

Nicasio Valley Organic Farms

Nicasio is open daily October 1–31, 10 AM–6 pm. It is one of the most beloved spots in Marin. Kids will love the long list of things do including, hay rides, farm animals, and jumpy houses. Parents will enjoy organic pumpkins, the farm stand and BBQ on the weekends.

Clancy’s Pumpkin Patch

1620 7th Ave.
San Francisco, CA 94122

Clancy’s is open daily from October 1nd through October 31st daily 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 pm. Clancy’s holds the honor of being the first Pumpkin Patch to open in San Francisco. One of the best parts of Clancy’s is the unique selection of pumpkins, not often found at most Pumpkin Patches. Clancy’s boast everything from mini pumpkins, Sugar Pie pumpkins, and Cinderella pumpkins to blue, white, and striped pumpkins – not to mention, where else in San Francisco can you get a hayride?

Clayton Valley Pumpkin Farms opens September 28th – 30th from noon to 5 pm. Starting October 1st – 31st from 9 am to 8 pm everyday.
