ALAMEDA, Calif. (KCBS)- Police in Alameda say they have arrested a man on charges of hawking items taken during the looting episode in Oakland following the Johannes Mehserle verdict.

According to the Bay Area News Group, 43-year-old Andrew Pedro Jackson was spotted selling t-shirts and shoes on Webster Street Thursday night.

While questioning Jackson, officers noticed something peculiar: All the shoes he was selling were for the left foot. Upon closer inspection, they found price tags from the Foot Locker Store on Broadway in Oakland.

Dozens of people broke the windows of that store just a few hours earlier and made off with merchandise.

Left foot only, brilliant! How many customers did he have?

Let me guess his marketing campaign…”Half off sale?” What the poolice don’t realize is that merchandise sells better when the price tag is left on- kind of like the thugs who wear baseball hats with the price/inventory tag still attached. This guy needs to be on “America’s Dumbest Criminals” and is a shoe-in for the Darwin Award. I can’t wait to hear this guy’s excuse. OPD has to be laughing at this one idiot- selling 1/2 pair of shoes and near the store he stole from. He needed to do his homework and contact the other fellow who stole the “right” pairs and they could incorporate their business venture. Hey Oakland Mayor- what do you think?
