Voice of Giants Inducted into HOF
COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (KCBS) _ The Bay Area's own Jon Miller has been inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame.
And many of his colleagues and contemporaries have nothing but good things to say about the San Francisco Giants play-by-play announcer.
The Giants franchise has more players in the Hall of Fame than any other team and now have the most announcers as well.

The venerable Russ Hodges is in the Hall and Lon Simmons joined him just a few years ago.
Miller grew up in Hayward and used to listen to Hodges and Simmons broadcast Giants games on the radio.
Simmons said the honor is well deserved.
"Jon has all the qualifications for making you feel like he's sitting in the living room with you and talking with you," said Simmons. "And letting you in on the secrets he knows."
The 58-year-old Miller actually started his career across the Bay with the Oakland A's back in the 70s recollects current A's announcer Ken Korach.
"I've always thought that the Sunday night game on ESPN really is the national game. And Jon's work with Joe Morgan I think has been exemplary with that," said Korach.
Miller also called games for the Baltimore Orioles before joining his hometown team, the Giants back in 1997
Team President and CEO Larry Baer said it was one of the Giants' best moves.
"I think Jon has a grasp for the rhythms of the game and the drama of the game," said Baer.
He said Miller also has an incredible sense of humor and makes games fun to listen to.
