State wildlife officials have banned fishing along a two-and-a-half mile stretch of the Petaluma River because of an oil spill Monday.
An old tugboat was being chopped up for scrap metal when it leaked an estimated 200 to as much as 600 gallons of oil.
So far, no sickened wildlife has turned up.
Anyone who has a boat which has been damaged by the spill is eligible to file a claim with the US Coast Guard.
