Charges Filed Against San Francisco IRS Agent Robbery Suspect

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Federal prosecutors have filed charges against one of two suspects shot by an Internal Revenue Service agent when they allegedly tried to rob her in San Francisco.

Court records show that 20-year-old Michael Higginbotham was charged Thursday in U.S. District Court in San Francisco with assault on a federal officer and a gun violation. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.

Investigators say the IRS agent, 36-year-old Dena Crowe, was putting things into her car outside her home in the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood when she was confronted by a teen demanding money and Higginbotham pointing a shotgun at her.

Authorities say Crowe identified herself as an agent and fired her .40-caliber semiautomatic handgun at the suspects, who then fled on foot.

the IRS is a department of the federal reserve bank, which is not part of our government. It is just a name like federal express. So how is it that the employee of an un-Constitutional business which refuses to be audited by congress, gain federal employee status?

To “Joshua WiIliamson”– you are wrong. The IRS is a division of the Dept. of the Treasury– NOT the Federal Reserve Bank as you incorrectly state. As such, IRS representatives are federal employees (and not “like federal express” in your post). Check your facts before posting incorrect information and idiotic claims. Go to to learn more.
