Lake Tahoe Mom Arrested For Abducting Daughter 25 Years Ago

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (AP) -- A 32-year-old Nevada woman who was unaware that her mother abducted her as a child inadvertently alerted authorities when the daughter tried to change her name to get married.

Nancy Dunsavage Fiedler was taken into custody at her home near Lake Tahoe Tuesday night after she allegedly admitted to being the woman wanted on a fugitive warrant issued in New Jersey.

Prosecutors say Fiedler did not have custody of her daughter, Eva Marie Fiedler, when the two disappeared before a hearing 25 years ago. Eva was 6 at the time.

Sgt. Frank Roman of the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office told The Associated Press the two had been living together in Incline Village. He said Eva apparently didn't know her 57-year-old mother was wanted in her abduction.
