San Francisco Officials Win Legal Battle With Nightclub Owners

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - San Francisco officials have won a legal fight to keep a troubled nightclub from re-opening at its Fisherman's Wharf location.

City Attorney Dennis Herrera said the city has secured a settlement and injunction preventing the owners of Club Suede from operating an entertainment facility at the Bay Street address.

The club has been the scene of trouble dating back as far as 2007. It culminated in a fatal shooting outside the facility this past February.

The judge's order prohibits the owners of the club from seeking an entertainment permit until a lawsuit against them is resolved.

The city is currently negotiating with the club owners over the lawsuit.
