Armed Robbers Hit Newark Chuck E. Cheese Restaurant

NEWARK (AP) - Newark police are looking for three armed men who entered a busy Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant and herded 40 employees and customers—including children—into a storeroom during a robbery.

Sgt. Manuel Deserpa tells the San Jose Mercury News that police started receiving 911 calls about the incident shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday, directing them to the Chuck E. Cheese location on Mowry School Road.

Deserpa says 11 Newark police officers and an unknown number of officers from Fremont responded to the scene, but the suspects fled before authorities arrived.

No injuries were reported. Police say no suspect descriptions were available because the gunmen covered their faces.

It wasn't immediately clear how much the robbers stole.
